I'm trialling an arrangement with two Simple DNS servers each with the DHCP plugin activated and have found that if the 'primary' DNS server machine is offline that the DHCP plugin on the 'secondary' DNS server doesn't update the zone records (of the 'secondary' server). I was wanting to set up the two servers in such a manner that DHCP & Dynamic DNS would continue if the 'primary' was offline. I noticed that the records in the 'secondary' can't be directly modified; - manual changes can only be made through the 'primary' server's record editor.
- Am I being too hopeful or is there a way to achieve updating (either via DHCP/Dynamic DNS or manually) records via a 'secondary' server?
